St. Cabrini Medical Center Affiliation – Batangas, Philippines
Kissito Post Acute has had a long standing practice of recruiting of Registered Nurses and Physical Therapists from the Philippines. But what initially started as a recruitment program has grown into a full-fledged Affiliation Agreement with and its related Lyceum-St. Cabrini College of Allied Medicine. Through the Affiliation Agreement, we share Clinical Information Systems and Clinical Practices that will ultimately lead to the development of a Post Acute Care Unit being operated at the Medical Center.
We currently sponsor twenty-seven (27) nurses and physical therapists in the Philippines for participation in the post-graduate training program at St. Cabrini. We are also developing innovative programs that will allow staff to rotate among Kissito facilities throughout the world to the dissemination of best practices and evidence-based medicine. Visit St. Cabrini’s website at www.SaintCabriniMedCenter.net.ph.
As an example of medicine without boundaries: the opening team of the Kamashi, Ethiopia hospital includes six team members from the Philippines and two of the Ugandan nursing students will be trained at the Lyceum-St. Cabrini College of Allied Medicine. Addressing global nursing and medical issues, Kissito CEO and President Tom Clarke delivered the commencement speech ( see speech text ) for the 2008 Lyceum graduating class.
